Mike Ramagoma is a seasoned executive, corporate governance specialist, and public policy strategist with more than two decades of leadership experience spanning government, defence and security, mining, and business advisory sectors. As Chief Operating Officer of Itsamaya Holdings, he oversees strategic operations, governance frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and business growth initiatives across the Group’s diverse portfolio.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr Ramagoma has demonstrated exceptional expertise in organisational leadership, strategic planning, public policy development, institutional transformation, and stakeholder management. He spent over 20 years within South Africa’s public sector security cluster, serving in a succession of senior executive and advisory positions, including Deputy Director-General and Head of Ministerial Services at the Department of Defence and Military Veterans, as well as Special Advisor to Ministers responsible for Defence, Correctional Services, and Home Affairs. In these roles, he played a significant part in policy development, executive support, governance oversight, intergovernmental relations, and strategic programme implementation.

Mr Ramagoma successfully transitioned into the private sector, where he served as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of Paramount South Africa, a subsidiary of Paramount Group. In this capacity, he led strategic engagement between advanced defence technology solutions and South Africa’s security institutions, strengthening partnerships within the defence and security ecosystem.

His experience further extends to mining enterprise governance, stakeholder relations, business development, and strategic consulting. As Chairman of Djembe Strategic Impact and advisor to mining and exploration businesses, he has provided leadership on corporate strategy, organisational transformation, public affairs, and business growth initiatives.
